Become a Rune Fellow

 

  • The Rune Fellowship is a 9-month intensive discipleship program designed to deepen fellows’ relationship with God through study, on-site mentor retreats, and community engagement.

  • The Rune Fellowship is designed for 17-25-year-old adults seeking a gap year before university, a one year break from studies, or a pre-career opportunity to participate in deep theological study.

  • The Rune Fellowship uses a hybrid approach to its program. Each term kicks off with a week-long retreat in the Virginia mountains. Fellows attend daily lectures and participate in colloquiums.

    TERM 1 RETREAT - October 17-23, 2022

    TERM 2 RETREAT - January 9-15, 2023

    TERM 3 RETREAT May 1-7, 2023

 

  • Full time.

    To receive the most out of The Rune Fellowship, we ask fellows to commit to full-time engagement.

  • Retreats.

    The fellowship retreats act as the backbone of the program. Attendance is required by all fellows.

  • More gatherings.

    Fellows are encouraged to attend other gatherings hosted by Rune, such as spiritual retreats, Overlanding excursions, or talks given by Dr. Willard in their region.

  • The essays.

    A major essay is due at the end of each term. Fellows will work with Dr. & Mrs. Willard during the retreats to hone their chosen topic.

 

Discipleship of beauty.

Based on his research and new book The Beauty Chasers: Recapturing the Wonder of the Divine, Dr. Willard will help students explore the “footpaths of beauty” and guide their study as they develop their own practical theology for living life in a way that pursues intimacy with God.

 
 

  • Fellows explore what it means to view their relationship with God as an adventure.

  • Students explore the realities of our fast-paced world and consider the value of chasing beauty as a form of spiritual discipline. To chase beauty is to change the pace of our lives to reflect heaven culture.

  • Fellows will spend time reading and in conversation with Dr. & Mrs. Willard about the power of God’s world.
